Our Story

Brian Eugene (B.E.) York was an engineer. He traveled the east coast inspecting everything from bridges to amusement park rides throughout the 1920s, but since his position kept him on the road for long periods of time, he missed the births of 2 of his 3 children. In 1930, in an effort to spend more time with family, B.E. York took an office in the Washington Trust Building on Main Street in Washington, Pennsylvania and opened the York Insurance Agency. By 1933, this office had evolved into the York Realty Agency.

 

For B.E. York, real estate was about family, a belief that his family has passed on for decades. Scott J. York, a third-generation broker, is now president of the Donald E. York Realty Company Incorporated, located at 70 East Beau St, Suite 200 in Washington. Today, families – both ours and yours – remain at the core of our business. York Realty strives to operate as a professional negotiator and intermediary, not only to buy and sell real estate, but to help find better homes and lives for families all over western Pennsylvania.
